After 30 years of ministry, time seems as if it passes at light speed. There is so much to do, so much to cover, yet not enough time to talk, to preach, or to minister to everyone who needs it. God gave the Roans many beautiful opportunities to be a witness for Him this year.
Conferences are always a treat for the Roans. This particular one was a blessing because Rev. Ivan and Ruthie Rhone hosted it. The theme for the conference at Center Street Ministries was “Real Change.” Rev. Rhone knows what real change really is. Pastor Ivan was at one time in The Salvation Army ARC. He gave his life to the Lord in 1999 at a week-end retreat where Oscar, Linda and their sons, Mario and Quincy, were ministering. Not only did the Lord let the Roans see fruit that is flourishing, but He moved on the hearts of many that were in attendance.
The Roans were the guest-speakers for an array of Salvation Army Men’s Retreats and Adult Rehabilitation Centers Retreats. Three day week-end retreats were held in New Jersey, Kentucky, Florida, and Texas. Over 300 to 400 men attended each outreach. Altars were filled with thirsty souls seeking God’s forgiveness, mercy, grace and salvation.
